set 2: Kurt Rosenwinkel (USA)
Rosenwinkel is one of the most original and influential guitarists, jazz musicians & composers of his generation. He has always given us music that has conveyed a sense of masterful story- telling & breathtaking imaginative reach. There's this kind of fluidity and architecture in the lines that he plays that I don't think I've heard anybody else do. There's a mystery in it to me. It's not obviously derived from some other player. He's really developed his own language with the musical information and physically the way he's playing the instrument. - Bill Frisell

set 1: Duo Stevko Busch & Paul van Kemenade (BRD/NL)
This highly qualified duo is already playing for several years together all over Europe and they made an impressive cd 'Contemplation' which has been overwhelmed by (inter)national very good reviews. The duo is playing a mix of their own compositions combined with free improvisations and compositions based on Russian chants and South African songs.

set 2: Guitarmeeting Reinier Baas & Wout Kemkens
Another curious meeting is this set of two complete different great guitarplayers. The young and
very capable jazzguitarist Reinier Baas (1985) is one of the most talented Dutch guitarists of his genereation (cum laude Amsterdam conservatory + finalist Deloitte Jazz Award). He is also soloist in the NJJO (Nationaal Jeugd Jazz Orkest) and leads his own band ‘The More Socially Relevant Jazz Music Ensemble’. Guitargiant and ‘screaming lips’ Wout Kemkens has his roots in the psychedelic rock-, blues- and soul music and is frontman of his own raw rockblues band ‘Shaking Godspeed’ (nomination ‘3voor12Award 2011’); played in different bands such as Bloody Honkies and did perform on many (inter)national festivals and as a support act of Deep Purple.

set 3: Trio Franky Douglas - Lesley Joseph - Ernst Reijseger
The trio used to be an ad hoc band but turned into a steady group. Guitarist Douglas (Surinam Music Ensemble), electric bassplayer Joseph and cellist Reijseger play a catching mix of jazz, folklore, classical music, funk and kaseko. With two Boy Edgar Prijs winners in the band, the trio is a festive ending of Christmas Eve.

set 2: Tuur Floorizone’s Tricycle (B)
An original Belgian inlfuenced by jazz, classical music, world music and experimental pop- and folk. Floorizone is a master on the accordion and has quickly gained a big reputation. For 10 years he plays in Tricycle together with bassplayer Vincent Noiret and saxophonist Philippe Laloy.

An extraordinary , highly active mature trumpeter and composer; a very creative musician with an unique sound and brilliant approach. A revelation from Italy. Giovanni Falzone (trumpet); Valerio Scrignoli (electric guitar); Michele Tacchi (electric bass); Riccardo Tosi (drums). An original tribute
to the great Jimi Hendrix. A must! and a perfect end of the 19 th Paranoia festival!
