With a family filled with classical violists, conductors, cellists, a father who played classical organ, a mother who was a classical pianist, he never knew any other way then starting to play classical piano when he was four. By the age of 16, he started to get more interested in Jazz music and at 17 he started to take lessons with Jan Reinen. Rein has performed with many great players like Eef Albers, Peter Guidi, Benjamin Herman, Till Brönner and many others. As a bandmember Rein plays with Enniwere (Brazilian Fusion), Panchito (Latin Jazz), EdgeBellyJazzDog (Jazz) and his own quartet with Guy Nikkels, David Barker and Hendrik Vanattenhoven and has been touring with them in Egypt, Austria, Germany and Spain. The first album of Panchito (Resurreción) has already received great reviews from critics all over the world and his own quartet will be releasing its first album at the end of 2006.
